	Women's Justice Center--Centro de Justicia Para Mujeres (This site has a lot of information and updates on the case of Maria Teresa Macias, a woman who was murdered by her abusive husband after the Sheriff's department  in Sonoma County, California failed to protect her.  The Macias family  just WON in federal court their case against the sheriff's department charging them with discriminating against Macias as a woman, a Latina, and a battered woman.  Now they will be returning to court to get money damages.  Women everywhere can now sue for discrimination/ denial of civil rights if police fail to protect.)
